Have I mentioned I got a job? Yes that is right I got a j-o-b. I wast trying to be a responsible young adult and get a job for the second half of the summer when I returned. But really it has been more like 1/4 of the second half of the summer. (This is only my second week and well rush starts in a week so I will not be able to work until school starts).
So now I call people. Yes that is right I am one of those dreaded tele-marketers from the University. Don't you even think about laughing. Put plain and simply...I ask people for money. I am not really the best at it and I am quite okay with that.
There is a script that you follow, more or less, and after I do my first ask and they say no, I say okay! I want to yell in the phone, I completely understand and I am surprised you even answered. In my house if we see a tele-marketer on the phone id we yell, "DO NOT ANSWER!"
So I laugh at myself when I have my headset on at work at the irony of the situation. Here I am, Elizabeth Jones, calling people, asking, pleading, trying to persuade them for money, when all I am thinking is I would not have even answered the phone in the first place you big dumbie!
So go ahead and laugh all you want because well at least I am making money, for now.
And so on,
Elizabeth
