(Backgrounder: On Sunday afternoon we took a train ride from Paris to Vichy, let the schooling begin).
Sunday, May 23
Today we took a train to Vichy and it was so relaxing and the views were great. I enjoyed reading my book as well. So we are settled in nicely in our new dorms. I am very impressed by them! As soon as we arrived we semi-unpacked and then away we went to explore the city! The town itself is so quaint and really beautiful. There is a great park nearby that is along side a river. Along the river's edge there were a few people swimming in the dedicated area for swimming. But the cool thing about this park on the river's edge there is an ice cream stand with umbrellas and places to sit and then a few yards away a small rundown place where you could play put-put then another little while away another place to eat. Above the river the park was so green and full of trees! There were people and families everywhere, riding bikes, swimming, playing put-put, eating ice cream, and even just sitting. Maxie would love it!! We walked up and down up and down once again. We did go buy hangers this afternoon so I would not be totally living out of my suitcase the whole month we will be here. And actually we just realized that our dorm room does not have towels and all the shops are closed. So I guess I will be drip-drying for my shower tonight, oh well. All in all Vichy is a neat city.
